How To Be Successful In Life

To be honest with you, if I was writing this a year ago, I would probably be the LAST person you would want to read a blog post from explaining how to be successful in life.   Quite frankly, I’ve had to overcome a lot of obstacles lately, which, in my opinion, turned out to be a blessing for me because the downtime I’ve had recently, has allowed me to learn a lot about how to be successful in life.

Now, I won’t go into details as to what those obstacles were that I mentioned earlier.  That’s an entirely different blog post all together.  In this post, I’m going to share with you what I’ve learned, and how you can implement this in your daily life.

How To Be Successful In Life

Avoid Negativity – This is a negative world we live in.  Most people are programmed to be negative.  It’s not their fault, it’s just a product of human nature.  And there are several different types of negativity… haters, naysayers, you name it.  The problem with a lot of these people is that they’re miserable in their current lives and/or situations.  And you know what they say, “Misery loves company”.

I’ve had more than my fair share of negative people in my life that I just had to virtually cut off.  I’ve had to give even some of my family members the boot.  The reason I had to do this is simple.  We become a product of our surroundings. If I continued to allow all of this negativity in my life, I would eventually become negative too.  As a result, all of my dreams would, more than likely, be wasted.  This is the reason why you want to surround yourself with like minded, positive people.

Personal Development Is Key – The paragraphs above ties into your personal development.  But it takes more than that.  See, we were all born, raised and taught to go to school, then to college, get good grades and get good jobs.  Well, as you can see by the current state of our economy, this is really no longer an option, but people are still willing to travel down that doomed road.  One of the most important things I did to learn how to be successful in life was invest heavily into my personal development.  I learned why we think the way we do and how differently the rich think from the poor.  What I’ve learned is quite staggering and helpful, but again, that’s another post for another day.

How To Be Successful In Life: Don’t Ever Give Up On Your Dreams

It’s okay to dream.  It’s okay to dream BIG.  Trust me.  I’m a Pisces, so I know these things.   You must never give up on your dreams, for they are what keeps you going.  But, if you want to see your dreams come true, you’ve got to be willing to come up with a plan, and work that plan until you make it happen.

A lot of people down me because I’m in the Network and Internet Marketing Industry… which again, goes back to the negativity I spoke of earlier.  But what they don’t understand is that I have a plan.  I’m working my plan and even though I’m not where I want to be yet, I’m a lot closer to being successful than they are. (Reference Trey Songz’ verse in the song “Successful”. I live by that.)

So in closing, I’ll just say this… if you have goals that you want to achieve, avoid the naysayers, improve your personal development, get up, get out and make it happen. This is how to be successful in life.
